A. Online Tutoring Headquarters offers one-on-one instruction by the same experienced tutor. Linda Kaye specializes in language arts, specifically in grammar and mechanics and all types of writing for all ages. She will also tutor all elementary and middle school subjects. At the high school level, she offers instruction in language arts, algebra 1, and social studies.

A.When parents call Online Tutoring Headquarters, we clarify specific objectives for their children and schedule the introductory tutoring session.
Q. What are the tutor qualifications?
A. Linda Kaye graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a B.A. in Elementary Education and from Western Kentucky University with a M.A. in Education plus 30 hours of certification in gifted/talented education and supervision. She taught fourth grade for twenty (20) years and middle school (6th-8th) for twelve (12) years. She also served as head academic coach for 10 years, leading three teams to 1st place in the Kentucky Academic Association State Governor's Cup Competition. She also taught one semester of English 101 at the community college level.
Q. How are sessions managed? A. After parents take advantage of the Introductory Tutoring Offer , they will schedule the first session with Linda Kaye. 
ALL SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON EST (EASTERN STANDARD TIME) The student will be given a user name and password to use to log in to Linda Kaye's classroom at the scheduled time. Both Linda Kaye and the student will configure their microphones to assure excellent voice interaction will take place. Linda Kaye will open the session warmly, work with the student to plan the session, keep the student engaged and the session on track, and end the session on a positive note. Q. Is a set curriculum followed? A. Linda Kaye designs her innovative sessions according to parents' requests, students' objectives and needs, and her own judgment of what subject matter should be covered. She helps students assess their own particular learning styles and utilize those styles to increase their knowledge. She may suggest supplemental materials and/or send documents via e-mail that she feels would be beneficial for student learning. Sessions vary according to the students' needs, but Linda Kaye will place a continued emphasis on teaching "how to learn" lifetime skills. Her creative approach to teaching makes learning enjoyable and profitable.
Q. How does tutor decide what to teach in a given session?
A. Linda Kaye will maintain regular contact with the parents concerning their children's progress via e-mail and/or phone. She wants to keep the lines of communication open to assure that her students achieve well. She will decide what topics should be covered according to these conversations as well as student progress. Her extensive teaching background provides her with many, varied, and unusual approaches to learning.
A. Linda Kaye will recommend how many sessions she feels are necessary on an individual basis. The number of sessions varies according to the subject matter and students' needs; however, the ultimate decision is yours.
Q. How often does the tutoring take place? A. Linda Kaye will recommend the number of sessions suggested per month and work with you to reach an arrangement that meets your children's needs and busy lifestyles. Q. What if we have to cancel or reschedule the tutoring session? A. Please cancel or reschedule your scheduled session with Linda Kaye by phone (1-800 520-3162) at least 24 hours in advance so that she may fill the time slot with another student. Online Tutoring Headquarters will expect full-hour payment unless notice of cancellation is given at least 24 hours prior to the session.
